Bernie Byars is licensed as an LPC-Intern supervised by Dr. Michelle Holcomb, Ph.D., LPC-S. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her Masters from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling.

At Four Seasons, she creates a safe place in each counseling session to help clients work collaboratively toward goals. She works with clients to address life’s challenges using different techniques that best suite the client.

Her student practicum experience was at the Eating Disorder Center of San Antonio where she saw individual clients as well as lead groups. During her time at the center she was exposed to dialectical behavior therapy and incorporates those techniques in her counseling. She also has worked in the university setting seeing students dealing with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life-transition, relationship issues, and emotional abuse.

Bernie practices personal work life balance and creates space in her life to workout, spend time taking care of her plants, practice yoga, as well as devotes time with her friends and family.
